We aim for the best outcomes for all our pupils including those who are disadvantaged. We will consider the challenges faced by vulnerable pupils including those with a social worker.
- Our ultimate aim is for all children to achieve the best they can. This includes doing everything possible to ensure our disadvantaged pupils make the progress they need to catch up with their peers academically.
- Our pupil premium strategy includes supporting all of our pupils to take part in all school activities. We have a proud tradition of being fully inclusive with no child ever feeling ‘left-behind’. This includes attending trips, playing a musical instrument, engaging in sports clubs and experiencing high quality residential visits.
Our curriculum is designed to increase the cultural capital of all our learners. We ensure high quality teaching across the whole curriculum with a focus on aspiration and careers to support children in learning skills for their future.
The allocated funding for Harry Hotspur C of E Primary for academic year 2021-22 is £49,765
The pupil premium was introduced in April 2011. It is allocated to children from low-income families who have been eligible for free school meals in the last six years, children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and children with parents serving in the forces.
The funding is to be used to address inequalities in educational results. The level of current pupil premium support funding is as follows:

The Service Pupil Premium
The Service Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 in recognition of specific challenges faced by children whose parents are in service and as part of a commitment to the armed forces covenant.
It is designed to assist the school in providing the additional support that these children may need and is currently worth £300 per service child who meets the eligibility.
Eligibility Criteria:
- One of their parents is serving in the regular armed forces
- They have been registered as a ‘service child’ in the school census
- One of their parents died whilst serving in the armed forces and the pupil receives a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
- Pupils with a parent who is on full commitment as part of the full-time reserve service.
Eligible schools receive the SPP so that they can offer mainly pastoral support to children during challenging times and to help mitigate the negative impact on service children of family mobility or parental deployment.
Schools have flexibility over how they use the SPP as they are best placed to understand and respond to the specific needs of those pupils.

Attendance
At Harry Hotspur C of E Primary School, we believe that every child should attend school. If children are not in school, then we cannot deliver their full entitlement for any policy area. We will work with parents and do everything we can to promote positive attendance including taking action to fine parents where necessary if support has already failed to secure improvements.
